P-702b, P-703b, P-707b; 2000
Endurachrome / canvas
After working for more than three decades in black and white, Manfred Mohr forced himself to consider the use of color in order to find a more adequate visual expression due to the increasing complexity of his work. This new series, beginning in 1999, is titled space.color. The added colors help describe spatial relationships but are not based on color theory. The colors should be viewed as random elements to demonstrate the spatial dimensions and ambiguity essential to his work. |
