Accompanying the show is a special issue of Leonardo, the Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology. This issue serves as the show's catalog, including the original essays on digital culture and all exhibition artworks.

Send the items listed below according to the type of entry you are submitting (ANIMATIONS, NET-WORKS, GALLERY EXHIBITIONS, ESSAYS ON DIGITAL CULTURE). If you wish to have your submission material returned, you must include a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (S.A.S.E.) with sufficient postage. Submissions sent without a S.A.S.E will be disposed of. ANIMATION ENTRANTS

Work may be submitted for consideration on VHS (NTSC or PAL), 3/4" U-Matic, or Beta SP in NTSC and must be clearly labeled. Sorry, we cannot accept SECAM formats. Work that is selected for exhibition must be submitted on Beta SP or 3/4" NTSC format only. Submissions MUST INCLUDE CREDITS.

Entries must also include up to four PRODUCTION STILLS of the work. Work submitted without production stills will not be considered! You must submit 35mm slides or TIFF images 3" x 4" @ 300 dpi MINIMUM for your work to be considered. Each slide/TIFF file must have the title of the work, date, and your name clearly marked on it. Unlabeled slides and files will be rejected.

End credits exceeding 15 seconds duration may be curtailed by the New York Digital Salon. Please provide copyright permissions if using any material (scores, etc.) produced by another artist.

• NETWORK ENTRANTS
  
  Submit an Internet address or URL where the work may be viewed, and/or a computer diskette (Mac or PC) clearly labeled.

  
  Entries must also include up to four 35mm slides of the work. You must submit slides for your work to be considered. Each slide must
  have the title of the work, date, and your name clearly marked on it. Unlabeled slides will be rejected.
  

  • ESSAYS ON DIGITAL CULTURE ENTRANTS
    
    Essays can discuss any aspect of digital culture, may include illustrations, and may be 1500 to 5000 words in length. They must not have been published previously as all accepted essays will be published in a special issue of Leonardo, the Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology.
    
    Essays must be submitted BOTH on PAPER and in DIGITAL form. The paper version should be mailed to Kirsten Solberg at the address above. Include a 1.4 MB Macintosh floppy disk with the file in Microsoft Word OR email the digital version to [email protected] Essays will not be considered unless both formats are received.
    
    Any ILLUSTRATIONS must accompany the entered essay, together with a list of CAPTIONS. Illustrations must be submitted as 35mm slides or TIFF images 3" x 4" @ 300 dpi MINIMUM for your work to be considered. Authors are responsible for getting written permission for all illustrations that are not their own work. Each slide/TIFF file must be clearly identified. Unlabeled slides and files will be rejected.
    
    
  • GALLERY EXHIBITION ENTRANTS (Prints, Sculptures, Interactive Installations, CD-ROM's, Performances, etc.)
    
    Up to four slides of work may be submitted for consideration. You must submit 35mm slides for your work to be considered. Each slide must have the title of the work, date, medium, and your name clearly marked on it. Unlabeled slides will be rejected. You may also submit a videotape, or a CD-ROM if you wish. If you send a videotape, it must be in VHS NTSC or PAL format.
    
    

  ALL ENTRANTS
  
  Please include the following. ENTRIES WITHOUT APPROPRIATE MAILING ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED: Name, Address, Phone number / Fax number, Email address, current resume, and artist's statement and synopsis of work (500-1000 words; please attach both digital file and paper copy.)
  
  The New York Digital Salon reserves the right to use all accepted entry materials for publicity and promotional purposes. Accepted work will be published in a special issue of the journal Leonardo and also on the World Wide Web in addition to being exhibited in all official New York Digital Salon venues.
