Send the items listed below according to the type of entry you are submitting (GALLERY EXHIBITIONS, INTERNET ARTWORKS, ESSAYS ON DIGITAL CULTURE, ANIMATION AND DIGITAL VIDEO, DIGITAL AUDIO AND MUSIC). If you wish to have your submission material returned, you must include a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (S.A.S.E.) with sufficient postage. There is no entry fee. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JUNE 1, 2001, except for essays, which must be received by May 1, 2001. Send all material to:

GALLERY EXHIBITION ENTRANTS
Work for consideration in this category can be prints, sculptures, interactive installations, CD-ROMS, games, performances, etc. Up to four slides of work may be submitted for consideration. You must submit 35mm slides and TIFF images on Mac floppy, Magneto Optical, Zip or Jaz disk or CD(at least 3" x 4" @ 300 dpi) for your work to be considered. Each slide must have the title of the work, date, medium, and your name clearly marked on it. Unlabeled slides will be rejected. You may also submit a videotape, or a CD-ROM if you wish. If you send a videotape, please send it in VHS format in one of the following standards: NTSC, PAL or SECAM. DVD-Video (NTSC) will also be accepted.
INTERNET ARTWORK ENTRANTS
Submit an Internet address or URL where the work may be viewed, and/or files clearly labeled. Files must also be submitted on a PC/Mac floppy, Magneto Optical, Zip or Jaz disk or CD.
Entries must also include up to four 35mm slides of the work. You must submit slides for your work to be considered. Each slide must have the title of the work, date, and your name clearly marked on it. Unlabeled slides will be rejected.
ESSAYS ON DIGITAL CULTURE ENTRANTS
Essays can discuss any aspect of digital culture; they may include illustrations, and should be 1,500 to 5,000 words in length. They must not have been published previously, as all accepted essays will be published in a special issue of Leonardo, the Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology.
Essays must be submitted BOTH on PAPER and in DIGITAL form. The paper version should be mailed to Laura Yeffeth at the address above. Include a 1.4 MB Macintosh floppy disk with the file in Microsoft Word OR email the digital version to . Essays will not be considered unless both formats are received.
Any ILLUSTRATIONS must accompany the entered essay, together with a list of CAPTIONS. Illustrations must be submitted as 35mm slides and TIFF images on a PC/Mac floppy, Magneto Optical, Zip or Jaz Disk or CD (at least 3" x 4" @ 300 dpi) for your work to be considered. Authors are responsible for getting written permission for all illustrations that are not their own work or in the public domain. Each slide/TIFF file must be clearly identified. Unlabeled slides and files will be rejected.
ANIMATION ENTRANTS AND DIGITAL VIDEO
Work may be submitted for consideration on VHS, U-Matic, or Betacam SP in NTSC video format and must be clearly labeled. PAL and SECAM formats can be submitted on VHS ONLY. Work that is selected for exhibition should be submitted on Betacam SP or U-Matic NTSC format or DVD-Video (NTSC). Submissions MUST INCLUDE CREDITS.
Entries must also include up to four PRODUCTION STILLS. Work submitted without production stills will not be considered. You must submit 35mm slides and TIFF images on a Mac floppy, Magneto Optical, Zip or Jaz Disk or CD (at least 3" x 4" @ 300 dpi) for your work to be considered. Each slide/TIFF file must have the title of the work, date, and your name clearly marked on it. Unlabeled slides and files will be rejected.
End credits exceeding 15 seconds may be edited by the NYDS. Please provide copyright permissions if using any material (scores, etc.) produced by another artist.
DIGITAL AUDIO AND MUSIC ENTRANTS
Work for consideration in this category can be music, spoken word, narrative, drama, and any other audio work in which the computer was used to produce the final product. Please submit an audio CD with labels, duration, and credits.

Please include the following: Name, Address, Phone number, Fax number, Email address, current résumé, and artist's statement and synopsis of work (500-1000 words; please attach both digital file and paper copy.) ENTRIES WITHOUT APPROPRIATE MAILING ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
The New York Digital Salon reserves the right to use all accepted entry materials for publicity and promotional purposes. Accepted work will be published in a special issue of the journal Leonardo and also on the World Wide Web in addition to being exhibited in all official New York Digital Salon venues.
